Maroon Arm Bowlers Association – Kallangur Memorial Bowls Club Inc
Expressions of Interest
I will be looking for Expressions of Interest from our club at Kallangur and all of the Clubs on the Northside of Brisbane to get a Sub-Committee and a Brisbane Northside Maroon Arm Bowlers Association going for 2019.
I am in the process of gathering all of the information I will need to get this started, after having met with Executive members of the Maroon Arm Bowlers Association at yesterday’s game at Musgrave Hill.
This will be a great opportunity for Arm Bowlers on the Northside of Brisbane to have their own games right here in Brisbane. Currently, we have to travel to the Gold Coast for most matches due to the lack of games available in Brisbane.
I am hoping for a good response to this Proposal and will be working on it over the next few Months or so. So, watch this space to see how we go with it.

For whatever reason entries have been a little slow coming in which generally results in a late rush. With each event limited to 28 teams you cannot afford to procrastinate any longer. Contact the event organiser now to reserve your spot.
MABA Musgrave Hills Tournament
Friday 19th October saw the Maroon Arm Bowlers take to the greens at Musgrave Hill on the Gold Coast. 22 teams took part in the competition and a great day was had by all.
Kallangur Memorial Bowls Club had one entrant in the Tournament in Tony Watson and he teamed up with Michael Anderton from Helensvale on the Gold Coast.
Tony and Michael had a slow start to the 2x4x2 game in the morning against Roger Goodridge and Krystie Ebert and found themselves trailing by 5-16 at the 12th End of a maximum of 16, but made a late charge to go down 12-16 after 15 (the bell).
After a great lunch put on by Musgrave Hill Bowls Club Tony and Michael took on Ray Dixon and Andrew in the 3 Bowls Pairs. Unfortunately, they started a bit slow again and after 11 of 18 Ends found themselves again trailing by 6-20, but again came home strong and won 6 of the remaining 7 Ends to take the match 23-21. Woohoo!!!
Our next match for the Maroon Arm Bowlers will be a Double Header at the Sunshine Coast. Sunday 18th November will be at Kawana Bowls Club with the AGM to follow and on Monday 19th November we will back up at Mooloolaba. (Flyers attached).
Our final game for the year will be at Manly on Monday December 10th and we also have vacancies for this one, so let us know if you are interested.

MABA Coolangatta Tournament
The Maroon Arm Bowlers Association held a Pairs Tournament at Coolangatta Bowls Club on Monday 24th September 2018.
Kallangur Bowls Club had one entry in Tony Watson who paired up with Alan Almond of Bargara Bowls Club. Tony and Alan won their first match 12-4 in the 2x4x2 format in beautiful conditions on a fast green. However, the second match in the 3 Bowls Pairs was a different outcome and they lost this one 18-23 in windy and light rainy conditions.
Overall there were a large number of competitors and the day was a success as usual.
The next Maroon Arm Bowlers Tournament is to be held at Musgrave Hill Bowls Club at Labrador on Friday 19th October 2018. Tony is always looking for a partner in these tournaments, so if any other arm bowlers would like to attend, please give Tony a call on 0408 766 992.
