Colin Joseph Devlin

Sunrise 29/06/1959 – Sunset 11/08/2020

It is with much sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of dearly beloved husband of Joe-ann Devlin and very cherished father of Tanya-Lee(d), Clinton, Tammy, Kenny, Kelly and Nichole.

Much loved Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Nephew and Friend.   Aged 61 years old

A service was held for Colin Joseph Devlin on Wednesday the 19th of August 2020 at Great Northern Garden of Remembrance in Deception Bay.

Col joined the KALLANGUR BOWLS CLUB on the 23/12/2004 and was President 2011- 2012, 2016-2017,2018-2019,2019-2020 and was Snr Vice President 2015-2016, Secretary 2007-2008,  and Club Selector 2014.

He won the “B” Singles Championship in 2012 and the Men’s Fours championship in 2011.

When I first met Col I looked at this “Osama Bin Laden” look a like and wondered what have I got here, but after getting to know Col I found him to be a real Diamond in the rough.   The phrase “don’t judge a book by it’s cover” aptly applies to him.   Col was a kind hearted, generous man and a extremely hard worker for the club.

He loved the club and especially Brekky Pairs; which would have been abandoned without his drive and commitment.

He had a quirky sense of humour and often pasted funny clips on Facebook as well as showing downloaded clips on his phone to mates at the club.

Wests Tigers NRL Club have lost a diehard fan as Col loved the Tigers and was always wearing some item of Tigers clothing including Tigers slippers.

He will be sorely missed not only by friends and family and our club members who knew him, but by all who came in Contact with him within the bowls fraternity.

Rest in Peace Col
